The Swiss shone on the ITF circuit this week. Celine Naef (WTA 209) and Susan Bandecchi (WTA 276) both won the title on Sunday in an ITF75 with $60,000.
Celine Naef triumphed in Pétange, Luxembourg, where Belinda Bencic had given up playing her quarter-final. The 19-year-old Schwtzoise dominated No. 1 seed Océane Dodin (WTA 110) on Sunday in the final. She won 6-2 6-4 in 1h16′ ahead of the Frenchwoman, former No. 46 in the world rankings.
This title, her seventh on the secondary circuit, will allow Celine Naef to gain more than 30 places in the hierarchy. She should appear this Monday in 173rd place, very close to her best ranking (171st).
Crowned in Ismaming in Germany, Susan Bandecchi (26) also won her seventh ITF trophy, the third of the year. But the Ticino had to fight to beat the Ukrainian Daria Snigur (WTA 158), seeded No. 2 in the table, even erasing a match point at 4-5 in the third set on her serve.
Susan Bandecchi, who won 6-7 (8/10) 6-2 7-5 in this final, will progress by almost 60 places in the WTA rankings. She will find herself around 220th place on Monday, having already appeared in 164th position in the world hierarchy (in March 2022).
