End of filming for “Jihane”. Directed by Driss Roukhe, produced by the second channel 2M and Horizon Prod, this film immerses us in the world of women’s sport in Morocco. This is the story of Jihane, a 17-year-old teenager passionate about football, ready to do anything to realize her dream: to become a professional player. But her journey is strewn with pitfalls, particularly within her own family, where her father (played by Abdelilah Ajil) exercises strict authority, reluctant to support her.

«Jihane must fight for her dream despite opposition from her father, who wants to see her follow a more traditional path in his business. We want to show that every girl has the right to combine her studies with her passions, whether sporting or artistic. This TV film is a call for equal opportunities and self-realization», Explains the director.

It is the young Nouhaila El Ouahmani who plays Jihane, for the first major role of her career. She told us about her happiness to collaborate again with the director after having played in his mini-series “Forsa Tania”.

Starring in this TV film is a range of actors including the great Abdelilah Ajil, Saida Baaddi, Sabah Benseddik and Karim Boulmal. And thanks to the presence of young professional football players, the TV film gains in realism.

Preparing for this role was not the easiest for the protagonist, because the actress will also have to convince on the pitch as a goalkeeper. A professional sports coach therefore accompanied her for this shoot.

«It’s the first time I’m playing football. I had intensive training and did my best to reach the level you will see on the screen», says Nouhaila El Ouahmani. “Before, I didn’t follow football matches but I had to watch some to familiarize myself a little with the subject“, she continues.

Driss Roukhe, a former goalkeeper, is a big football fan and closely follows the journey of the women’s national team. “I am particularly impressed by the progress of Moroccan women’s football, particularly during the last African Cup of Nations. Our players have the potential to win African and world titles and the TV film illustrates this», declares the director. “I am convinced that they will continue to surprise us and write beautiful pages in the history of Moroccan football.», he concludes.
