After their defeat in Bruges in the Champions League, Aston Villa traveled to Anfield to challenge Liverpool on the 11th day of the Premier League.
Youri Tielemans et Amadou Onana appeared at the kick-off on the Anfield pitch for this clash against leader Liverpool.
Aston Villa’s first Champions League appearance also means a much busier schedule. Unai Emery’s troops remain in four matches without victories, including three defeats in a row.
Things started badly for Villa with the opening score of Darwin Núñez (20th) which punctuated a superb work of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian scored the winning goal at the end of the match (84th) fixing the final score at 2-0 for the Premier League leader.
Aston Villa remain 8th and will have to bounce back after the international break, at home against Crystal Palace before hosting Juventus in the Champions League.
