Having lived in Yvelines for more than ten years, the Swede Tina Darcel will participate in Morocco, from Monday November 11, 2024, with two friends, in the Trek’in Gazelles. She will face 148 teams during the 4e edition of this exclusively female orienteeringwhich runs until November 14.
An expedition into the desert also for charity. For each milestone reached, €5 will be donated by the organization to Popular aid.
Between 15 and 25 km per day
The organization has implemented a platform on which everyone can follow and encourage the competitors throughout the trek.
To find their way, they just a map, a compassa pedometer and a Breton protractor. The objective is to connect as many beacons as possible by covering the shortest distance (between 15 and 25 km per day).

It was her friend Gaëlle Blanchard, psychologist, who launched the trio on this adventure, which they had already accomplished for the first time. “The ASVEL women’s basketball club is our sponsor,” says Tina Darcel. With its president Tony Parker and its deputy president Marie-Sophie Obama, we have chosen to support two associations: Revel, which works with young women to inspire them and help them rebuild their lives, and Vivo, which helps men and women leave violent relationships. »

Tina Darcel has lived in L’Étang-la-Ville for eleven years. She immediately joined the Les Foulées de Saint-Germain association to practice running . “It’s mainly for my well-being and because I love running, rather than for performance. But we always want to improve, we set ourselves goals. »
She ran the distance marathon eight times(the first in Paris in 2013, then, among others, in Lisbon, Los Angeles and Stockholm), including the Marathon for All in August 2024 as part of the Paris Olympic Games.
An event for which she was drawn, with her group “ASICS FrontRunner”, runnin communityg of more than 600 runners around the world, spread across around thirty countries.
“The Marathon for All was an extraordinary experience, a phenomenal success, I have never experienced that. The Olympic and Paralympic Games are definitely my best moments spent in Paris, the French have broken all records for organization and friendliness! »
A sportswoman at heart
Tina Darcel has always played sports with her family in Suedea country very outward looking and very oriented towards nature. She joined a running club in 2012.
She says she is very attached to Saint-Germain-en-Laye, where her family came to send their children to the International Lyceum, but also to theenvironment with the surrounding parks and forests, important elements for her who comes from Sweden.
