The girls of the Judo Club Cortaillod – Neuchâtel are adorned with bronze. The Neuchâtel judokas won the small final of the Swiss League A interclub championship on Saturday. They defeated Judo Team Oensingen by four victories to one (8-2). After having come up against the Soleuroises at the same stage of the competition during the two previous years, Désirée Gabriel’s fighters took a nice revenge which allowed them to finally get back on the podium: for sixteen consecutive years, before two years of drought, they had each time won a medal, celebrating the national title six times. Technical director of the club and coach of the team, Désirée Gabriel did not hide her happiness at seeing the club reconnect with a great tradition: “It’s a great satisfaction after having gone two consecutive years without a medal. It is the fruit of the work of the girls who broke free, who fought today at a level that could be expected of them. »
Before winning their bronze medal, the fighters from JC Cortaillod – Neuchâtel lost in the semi-finals to the Zurich team from Uster by 8-2. /mne
