NEW YORK, June 13 (Xinhua) — Xinhua News Agency Chairman Fu Hua held talks with Reuters Chairman Paul Bascobert in New York on Wednesday to discuss promoting cooperation and topics of mutual interest.

Building on nearly 70 years of bilateral cooperation, the two sides have maintained high-level exchanges in recent years and their cooperation has seen new developments, said Fu, who visited the United States at the head of a delegation.

He expressed hope that the two agencies will strengthen their mutually beneficial cooperation on the use of emerging technologies and international news services, among others.

Mr. Bascobert recalled that the two parties jointly created the Global Media Summit, which has become a major conference of the media industry. He also looked forward to sharing the latest advances in artificial intelligence in the industry during the upcoming Global Media Summit.

Furthermore, he stressed the importance of working hand in hand and helping to guide different cultures towards mutual understanding.

The two sides also exchanged ideas on artificial intelligence, video services and tourism promotion opportunities. END
