Initially relegated to the amateur divisions of French basketball, Limoges CSP will ultimately still play among the elite at the start of the school year.

This is the end of an endless series which will have made Limougaud supporters go through all the feelings. The National Directorate of Control and Management Consulting (DNCCG) confirmed this Thursday morning that Limoges CSP would evolve among the elite of French basketball at the start of the school year. No sanctions were imposed on the club following the mismanagement of the previous management.

Initially condemned to relegation in the amateur divisions by the financial policeman of French basketball, the Limougeaud club saved its place and even its future at the end of the suspense thanks to the agreement reached on the wire, last Sunday, between Céline Forte and Lionel Peluhet. His demotion was canceled and the CSP file will be studied like all the others on June 25 during a plenary meeting of the DNCCG. A return to normal.

Crawford Palmer returns

The file of the financial director of Groupement Les Mousquetaires convinced the DNCCG to renew its confidence in the Limouge institution which will start again on new solid foundations.

Who is Lionel Peluhet

After this highly anticipated officialization, everything will speed up considerably on Rue Descartes. Contacted for several weeks by Lionel Peluhet, Crawford Palmer, 53, will very quickly be confirmed as sports director. A return to basics for the Olympic vice-champion at the 2000 Olympics who had already held this position between 2019 and 2022 before being dismissed by Céline Forte for differences of opinion. With six players under contract, a coach and an assistant, Crawford Palmer will not necessarily start from scratch but it remains to be seen what resources he will have at his disposal.

Experienced profiles in offices

In the offices on rue Descartes, new faces should arrive soon. According to our information, Jean-Charles Bregeon, formerly of SLUC Nancy and more recently the Metropolitans 92, would have been approached to occupy the position of administrative and financial director. A new page will open at Limoges CSP.
