This is a big blow signed by USAP. The Catalan club has just formalized the return of Tristan Tedder, who left for Racing 92 in the 2023 off-season. The fly-half, also capable of playing at the back, will return to Perpignan next season.
An expected return. As we announced to you in recent weeks, Tristan Tedder was a man courted by the Top 14 teams. But the original South African chose to return to Catalonia, to put on the Perpignan jersey again. He signed for two seasons with the residents of Aimé-Giral.
Under the Catalan jersey, the versatile fly-half completed two full seasons. Under the management of Patrick Arlettaz, he shone in the Top 14, scoring eleven tries. The former Bayonne and Béziers player had above all been a major architect of the two consecutive victories in Access matches, allowing Usap to remain in the elite of French rugby. With his return to the shores of the Mediterranean, he will find a squad that he knows well, as well as a staff that has hardly changed since his departure, notably with the arrival of Franck Azéma.
Courted by many clubs
Heavily injured, Tristan Tedder has still not played a single minute since the start of the season. However, last year the player who has the advantage of being Jiff was a base man for the Ile-de-France residents. With 28 match sheets, including a start in the play-off against UBB, the former Sharks showed the full extent of his talent.
Coming to the end of his contract at the end of the season, he was strongly courted by many Top 14 clubs, including Aviron Bayonnais. But the player ultimately chose to return to the Pyrénées-Orientales.
