Afrobasket 2025: Morocco replaces Mozambique – Lequotidien

Morocco has officially been designated to replace Mozambique in the qualifiers for Afrobasket 2025! The Atlas Lions, in search of success on the continental scene, therefore join a strong group, alongside South Sudan, Mali and the Democratic Republic of Congo. This change comes following Mozambique’s withdrawal, leading to its withdrawal from the qualifying tournament. The Federation of Morocco reacted quickly to organize this participation in these Afrobasket qualifiers, and preparations are already underway to face the most competitive African nations.

This group presents serious challenges for Morocco. South Sudan, in particular, is on the rise in African basketball, with talented players and notable performances in recent competitions. Mali and the DRC, also very experienced, promise intense confrontations, each team aiming to qualify for Afrobasket 2025, one of the most prestigious basketball competitions in Africa.

According to the local press, for the Atlas Lions, this tournament will be a valuable opportunity to show their potential and establish themselves on the African scene. Moroccan fans hope that this team will be able to take advantage of this chance and give the best of itself against these formidable opponents.
