Unhappy finalists in the last edition won by Spain, will Les Bleues be able to do better and win the 2025 Nations League title? The group stage draw on Thursday 7 November placed them in an affordable group with Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
Placed in hat 1, the French team could face England, a scarecrow placed in hat 2. The English, reigning European champions, will finally challenge Spain, reigning world champion, in group A3 , a group in which Belgium and Portugal simply risk making up the numbers.
With the English obstacle avoided, Laurent Bonadei’s players are doing well but will have to be wary of opponents who can be tough, like the Swiss who beat them 2-1 at the end of October. The group stage will take place from February 19 to June 3. The draw for the final phase will take place on June 6, for the semi-finals (between October 22 and 28, 2025) and a finale (between November 26 and December 2, 2025) in the form of two-way matches. To open the doors to the semi-finals, only the first team from each group is qualified.
