Formula 1 | Zhou has ‘a number of options’, discusses his future

Guanyu Zhou was officially sidelined by Stake for the 2025 season, and the Chinese driver wanted to salute the people who supported him, but also the team that brought him to Formula 1. He looked back on his beginnings and on his great performances.

“I will leave Stake F1 at the end of the 2024 season” Zhou wrote. “I would like to thank all the fans for their continued support. You have been fantastic and continue to inspire me. I am immensely proud to represent my country as the first Chinese Formula 1 driver.”

“I hope my races continue to inspire those who follow my story. I am happy to have already achieved a lot in difficult conditions in Formula 1, including scoring points in my first race, achieving the best rounds and leading memorable battles throughout the grid.”

Zhou confirms that he hopes to stay in the Formula 1 paddock next year, which could happen by taking a role as a reserve: “Unfortunately the last two seasons have been difficult for everyone, but I want to look forward.”

“I’m positive about the future, and I’m now totally focused on making sure I can really show what I’m capable of. I’m currently discussing a number of options to stay in the Formula 1 paddock, and I will update you all soon.”
