Present at a press conference on Friday, the Lyon coach reacted to the situation of the Ligue 1 broadcaster. And joked about the promise of a reduction in the subscription price.

Lyon coach Pierre Sage has expressed his fears about a “invisibility” of the French championship in the future, while ironizing about the recent promotional offer from Ligue 1 TV broadcaster DAZN, Friday at a press conference.

“Ligue 1 is a product that has gained in value over the last few years and the invisibility of the French championship could be a concern for the future”warned the technician. “The financial side is the most worrying, even DAZN made an offer with ten euros less”he observed, referring to the temporary reduction in the subscription offered by the Ligue 1 broadcaster, from 29.99 euros to 19.99 euros per month.

DAZN didn’t give him a discount

But for the Lyon coach, the League is “a good client for DAZN and its predecessors”. “There are some pretty lively matches, more and more teams with attacking ideas and the desire to have a more spectacular game with crazy scenarios, compared to what we have seen in the past”Sage stressed.

“If tomorrow there is no more television broadcasting, maybe there will be less football and that will be really worrying. I don’t think people want there to be less football.”he said again. He then smiled at the situation, having himself subscribed to DAZN’s initial offer. “They don’t want to give us a discount! I feel like I’ve been had. That’s the way it is, that’s the game.”he said.
