(Agence Ecofin) – On several occasions, the Moroccan media have received criticism for too partial coverage of the local and regional sports scene. To resolve the problem, public television will soon launch 4 new channels dedicated to sport.

In Morocco, the population will soon have access to 4 new sports channels whose creation has been authorized by the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA), the media regulator. Arryadia 2, Arryadia 3, Arryadiya 4 and Arryadia 5 of their names, will strengthen the sports coverage offered by the Arryadia channel.

These public channels will ensure exclusive broadcasting of major sporting events organized in the Cherifian kingdom, which is hosting the next edition of the African Cup of Nations (December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026), 2 editions of the women’s CAN, several editions of the U17 Women’s World Cup, and the 2030 World Cup in collaboration with Spain and Portugal.

The new channels will also fill gaps observed by the public at Arryadia, such as the poor coverage of women’s football and certain local competitions. National television has not yet specified their launch dates, but it is expected that they will promote the image of Morocco as a host country for sporting events.
