Author of an XXL performance this Sunday, Ademola Lookman was the big player in Atalanta Bergamo’s 3-0 success on the Naples lawn. A success savored by the Nigerian striker who does not make the Ballon d’Or an obsession.

Thanks to a double scored in 21 minutes (10th and 31st), Ademola Lookman guided Atalanta Bergamo to a resounding success on the Serie A leader’s lawn. He now has 6 goals and 4 assists in the league. With his two new achievements, the 27-year-old winger set a record in the Italian championship. Lookman has indeed become the first Serie A player involved in the highest number of goals in 2024.

He scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists during the calendar year. Asked after the match, he first praised the overall performance of the team, in particular that of Charles De Ketelaere, author of the two assists on his two goals.

“Great performance from the team and De Ketelaere, it wasn’t easy but we are proud of this result. We played very well against the top of the ranking,” said Ademola Lookman.

Ademola Lookman not interested in Ballon d’Or
Nominated for the first time in his career, Ademola Lookman is the only African footballer present in the Top 15 of the European Ballon d’Or. The Super Eagles winger came in at 14th overall. Unsurprisingly, he was asked about the Ballon d’Or after his new masterclass. “Ballon d’Or? Individual awards do not interest me, I have to continue working to help the team obtain results,” said the man who is one of the big favorites for the African Player of the Year award at the 2024 Caf Awards.
