Algeria Football– Algerian journalist Rafik Wahid once again looked into the RS Berkane USMA case, brought before the CAS in Lausanne.
“CAF is under the influence of Morocco, and has lost all credibility, moreover the inter club commission has validated the controversial RS Berkane jersey containing the false map of Morocco. We have exhausted all our avenues of appeal to the CAF, and we (the FAF and the USMA) have appealed to the CAS in Lausanne which will rule on November 13. We don’t give a damn about the CAF inter-club commission, whose head is none other than the Mauritanian Ahmed Yahya, who is doing everything to sabotage Algeria,” said journalist Rafik Wahid.
As a reminder, following the cancellation of the USMA RS Berkane first leg match, CAF awarded a 3-0 victory by forfeit to RS Berkane against USM Alger. Before this meeting, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) had requested the opinion of CAF, which had ruled in favor of RS Berkane, affirming that the team had worn the same flocked jersey since the start of the tournament.
A week later, the FAF decided to appeal CAF’s decision against the USMA to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne. She considers that the Cairo body has “validated the request of the Moroccan club, RS Berkane, to wear a jersey displaying a political message” during the semi-final first leg.
