At Royal Antwerp FC, player sales seem inevitable to balance the books, in the absence of significant European income. According to Gilles De Bilde, Jacob Ondrejka, who is having an excellent season, could well be the next player to leave.
Ondrejka, a growing asset for Antwerp
After a first season marked by injuries which slowed down his progress, Ondrejka showed his full potential this year under the direction of Jonas De Roeck. In 13 league matches, the Swede has already scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists. “His striking technique is impressive and constitutes a real asset for the team,” underlines Gilles De Bilde in an analysis for DAZN, highlighting Ondrejka’s rise to power.
A transfer on the horizon
De Bilde anticipates a potential departure for Ondrejka at the end of the season if his development continues at this pace. “If he continues this way, he could be the next player to leave Antwerp,” said De Bilde. With a contract until 2028 and a current market value estimated at 5 million euros, the Swede could bring in significant added value, having been recruited for 1.5 million euros.
Interest in Ondrejka is expected to intensify if his performances continue, paving the way for a future profitable sale for the club.
