1B – MATCHS After having collected 4 points out of the 6 deniers at stake, the RSCA Futures had a great opportunity this Saturday to continue their series by hosting Eupen, a resident of the soft stomach. They would have even liked to win a second victory in this championship, especially after having opened the score, but they will be satisfied with a draw which does not drop them in the ranking given that their opponent had gone ahead. The match therefore ended in a logical draw with a score of 2-2.

Deprived of Lapage, his tower of central defense, Jelle Coen had decided to put the young Engwanda in his place to be able to continue in a 3-5-2 which had borne fruit during the last two outings. Apart from this change imposed by circumstances, the coach renewed the team which had started during the trip to Beveren.

Well in place, the young mauves were never in difficulty before the break. Eupen did not in fact succeed in disturbing their last rampart. With a nice lift of the ball, they were even the ones who opened the scoring. Going up in line, Maamar received the ball to hand it over on the left flank to Angulo who with his right foot curled a ball which lodged in the top corner, lobbing the goalkeeper. A few minutes later, Tajaourt had the ball for 2-0 at the end of his foot, on another beautiful reconversion, but his delivery went over the board.

The Germans were more enterprising in the second half without however bringing danger in front of the goal defended by Schlieck apart from 10 minutes of hesitation in the purple defense which almost proved fatal to them. Lapage’s absence was strongly felt at that time, especially on the two goals where his heading was lacking in the penalty area. On a corner and a return to touch, no purple was able to impose itself to clear the ball which consequently ended up twice in the goalkeeper’s net. Between the two goals, Schlieck made two more good saves to prevent the score from taking on greater proportions.

A quarter from the end, the RSCA Futures regained their senses and set off again to conquer the goal synonymous with an equalizer. This fell meritoriously 5 minutes from the end of regulation time by Baouf (in photo) who extended into the goal a header from De Cat who rose higher than everyone on a throw-in from Goto .

Third consecutive match without suffering defeat for Jelle Coen’s players who will have a crucial trip for the rest of the competition next week to Seraing, another team in the red zone. Defeat will be forbidden, but it is above all victory that they will have to force to continue their good series and to somewhat extricate themselves from the last places.
