32 Moroccan cities ready to welcome the teams

The development projects underway in the various cities of the kingdom will accelerate with a view to ensuring the success of the organization of this high mass of world football, declared Lekjaa, during the meeting of the Finance Commission and economic development in the House of Representatives, devoted to the detailed examination of the 2025 finance bill, announcing the extension of the high-speed line to Marrakech and Agadir.

“It is necessary to expand airports in line with the progress made in the tourism sector, particularly in Marrakech, Agadir, Fez, Tangier and Casablanca. These development projects, whether we host the World Cup or not, are essential to achieve, and it is a major asset of the Moroccan file for the World Cup candidacy, because the conditions take into account the way in which the country will benefit from the infrastructures and projects linked to the World Cup,” he explained.

The president of the FRMF added that “the team which will play for example in Rabat could be hosted in Nador, and the number of cities which will host the teams, between the places of residence and training, will be 32. This logic allows all regions of the Kingdom to benefit from this event, which will not only be Moroccan, but also African and Arab. »

And to conclude: “We will use all the stadiums we have, but they will be renovated to be in new condition. As for the city of Casablanca, we will need to build a new stadium because of the many supporters of the Raja and Wydad teams, and the city deserves a stadium that meets these standards. »
