The Laval Rocket continued its excellent start to the season by signing a sixth victory in a row on Friday evening.
At Place Bell, the Montreal Canadiens’ farm club won 2 to 1 against the Providence Bruins. Head coach Pascal Vincent’s team has maintained an excellent record of 7-1-0 since the start of this campaign.

It was a magnificent goal from Owen Beck which made the difference in today’s duel. In the third period, while the Laval club was playing shorthanded, Brandon Gignac stole the disc from a rival in the offensive zone.
The Quebecer then beat an opponent and handed the puck to Beck, who was rushing to the net. The first-year player put down the opposing goalkeeper and moved the strings.
The Rocket were also the first team to score. In the first period, Jared Davidson took advantage of a power play to score his fourth in 2024-2025. Logan Mailloux and Joshua Roy were accomplices in this success.
The Bruins’ response came in the second period, via the stick of Georgii Merkulov.
Connor Hughes made 25 saves in front of the winner’s cage. At the other end of the ice, goalie Michael DiPietro was tested just 16 times.
The Rocket will try to continue its happy streak on Saturday evening, when the same opponent will be back in Laval.
