Pro D2 – Grenoble overcomes Agen

and faced each other as part of the 9th day of Pro D2 this Friday, November 1st. At the Stade des Alpes, this duel was mastered by the Grenoblois. The locals took a 17-point lead before managing in the second half to win 37-10.

Grenoble managed to beat Agen during the 9th day of Pro D2. Final victory 37-10 for Nicolas Nadau’s players. The Agenais spent too much time in their camp to hope for a better result.

The game got off to a wild start. Sarragallet validated Grenoble’s first incursion in the 4th with a first-hand try following a fake maul. Dayral and Palmier kicked each other to increase the score.

Grenoble has long been ineffective

Phillips scored his team’s second try in the 12th minute, proving overpowering to force three Agenais players in front of their goal line. Agen tried to respond, but the game turned into a succession of mistakes. Palmier scored one last penalty before the siren, 20 to 3 for Grenoble at the break.

The second half essentially took place in a false rhythm. Grenoble retained possession of the ball, but its long sequences proved to be harmless one by one. Olmstead received a yellow card after six minutes, but Agen held on.

Agen scuttles at the end of the match

Guion scored a strong try in the 55th minute to give Agen hope. Back at 10 points, the Agenais could still believe it. A new yellow card, against Mazzoleni in the 68th minute for a voluntary forward, then a second for Pourteau, accompanied by a penalty try for collapsing a maul, confirmed Grenoble’s success.

Julien Farnoux scored twice in five minutes (74th and 79th) to conclude this meeting. Grenoble garners a valuable offensive bonus to climb to the third step of the podium. A blow to Agen, who had always collected at least one point in his travels this season and who slipped to 10th place.
