Loïc Lapoussin has regained his place in the Union SG first team. The 28-year-old striker had the opportunity to play a few minutes in the Cup against KAS Eupen.
Loïc Lapoussin is one of the Union players who rose to the first division. This season, however, started in the worst way for him, with a demotion to the B team decided by management.
The Malagasy had difficulties, but he says he is not surprised by his return: “I never gave up and I continued to work hard. Even harder, that’s what is needed in those moments,” he told The Newspaper.
Lapoussin has already proven in the past that he is an excellent footballer. The Union certainly need his qualities at the moment, with the club currently only in 10th place in the table.
Many people doubt me, but I’m ready to prove them wrong
“A lot of people doubt me, but I’m ready to prove them wrong and show what I can still bring to this club. Do I want revenge? No, absolutely not. We always have to prove yourself in football, especially in difficult times. This is where you see who is mentally strong and who is not. I am ready for the future,” expresses the Unionist.
“Of course I want to become a starter again,” he continues with a clear objective. “I want to get back to my best, so I’m happy to finally get some playing time with the A team against Eupen. I’m not looking back and I just want to contribute now.”
He already makes a great promise to the supporters…: “And besides, for those who doubt the Union: of course the Union is still capable of achieving great things this season. We find ourselves in Champions’ playoffs.”
