The 12th day of the Pro League has delivered its verdicts! Like every week, the team from the show “Dans le Vestiaire” was responsible for deciphering this day of competition. Marc Delire, Silvio Proto and Kevin Sauvage notably returned at length to the defeats of Anderlecht and Standard, which obviously did not convince many people.
“Men against teenagers”
So let’s start with the Topper, won by Club Brugge 2-1 against a much too timid Anderlecht. The Mauves’ performance did not reassure our experts. Silvio Proto, back on the board, was even afraid of seeing his former club take 4, based on the start of Bruges’ match against AC Milan in the Champions League.
According to him, there is a mentality problem. “I saw a team of men against a team of teenagers,” complains the former Anderlecht goalkeeper, who denounced both the lack of motivation and commitment and tactical errors, notably with the positioning of Leander Dendoncker. Marc Delire was not won over either. “It would have been like U7s against U23s…”, he regrets.
“Luckily they didn’t equalize, because we would have mitigated the mediocrity of their performance,” he continues. “They have their noses in their poop and they need to clean themselves up, and quickly!”, he concluded.
A Standard in its place?
The other big theme of the show was obviously the defeat of Standard, who lost heavily 3-0 against Antwerp. According to our experts, miracles should not be expected and Les Rouches are therefore where they should be, given the club’s current situation.
“Standard will be between 9th and 12th place,” even estimates Marc Delire. Kevin Sauvage, for his part, still does not feel a bond in this Liège team, denouncing too frequent culpable errors on the part of the players. “Leko castigated him afterwards, some think more of themselves than of the team, these are not meaningless words,” recalls the journalist.
Silvio Proto is also convinced that players are selfish. “They play for their apple, this is often the case when you have players on loan,” recalls the former Mauves goalkeeper.
