“It was not an easy situation and I wish no one had to go through this.” It’s a small sentence that makes some PSG supporters scream with anger, but when we know Kylian Mbappé’s precise communication, we already know that his statement is thoughtful and intentional.

Following the presentation of the Globe Soccer Forum best European player trophy on Tuesday, the international striker gave an interview to the American channel CNN. A moment where after a few banalities, the star on departure from PSG indulged in a few confidences, notably about his extension with Paris in 2022, while everyone was waiting for him at Real Madrid.

“It was more than just staying at PSG. It was the World Cup in Qatar. There were a lot of things around these things. It was an important decision, a difficult decision but I don’t regret anything.” And Kylian Mbappé to emphasize before his final departure from Paris on June 30 “I just want to remember the best things. It was not an easy situation and I wish no one had to go through that.”

As a reminder, by signing his extension in 2022, Mbappé secured a salary of 72 million euros gross annually, all supplemented by a signing bonus of 150 million euros, payable in three installments.
