It’s historic! The girls of the Strasbourg Racing club celebrated their title of D2 champions and their rise to D1 during a ceremony at Strasbourg town hall this Wednesday evening. “We’ve been celebrating for a few days, we haven’t slept much, but it’s pretty tired. We created a wonderful group, a family, it’s very rare. We were also lucky to have a lot of supporters, they came even without a stand. They were there for us, it’s very positive”, says player Elise Bonet who signed a new two-year contract with Racing. “An incredible season with this title at the end. This usually only happens once in a lifetime so we take advantage“, reacts vice-captain Fanny Hoarau at the France Bleu Alsace microphone.

It’s the president of the RCSA Marc Keller who presented the medals and the cup to the players “we lost only one game, we have the best defense, the best coach, it’s really a great season with a great state of mind. The whole club is very proud of the work that has been done. This is an important step. We will try to do well in the Arkema Premier League knowing that it will be very difficult the first year, because the difference in level is significant. But we will try to structure ourselves in the staff, in the players and in the organization chart to best support the development of women’s football“. The club is also in the process of looking for a new field to accommodate the players next year.
