Less than 60 days before the start of the Olympic Games, the layout of the sites hosting the events is becoming clearer and traffic restrictions are coming into force. Several major routes will see their lanes modified or completely closed. This is the case in several sectors:

Invalids

From this Thursday 8 a.m., traffic is restricted in the Invalides sector to prepare for the archery and para archery events, the finish of the marathon and para marathon and the start of the time trial cycling race.

  • The Bleuets de France roundabout will close.
  • The Invalides underground public car park will be closed until September 25. Operation of the service station is maintained until June 17 then will be suspended until September 25.
  • Rue de Grenelle remains a two-way street but with restricted lanes.

Trocadéro, Champs de Mars

From this Friday 8 a.m., the Trocadéro Champs de Mars sector will also be modified to accommodate the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, the Champions Park, as well as the start and finish of walking and cycling in line.

  • Avenue des Nations-Unies will be closed to motorized and pedestrian traffic between rue Le Nôtre and place de Varsovie and between place de Varsovie and avenue Albert de Mun. Rue Le Nôtre has two-way traffic for local service needs.
  • The Joffre underground public car park will be closed from July 15 to September 8.
  • The Grand Suffren on the surface will also be closed from July 15 to September 8.

Concord

From this Saturday 8 a.m., the La Concorde sector will be very modified with a view to hosting the BMX Freestyle, breaking, 3×3 basketball, skateboarding events, as well as the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games

  • In the north-south direction, rue Royale is closed to general traffic, except for local service needs, from place de la Madeleine as well as from rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré, to place de la Concord.
  • In the south-north direction, from rue de Rivoli already limited to general traffic, traffic remains open on rue Royale towards Madeleine. Local service remains authorized in an east-west direction towards Avenue Gabriel.
  • In the west-east direction, on avenue des Champs-Elysées, traffic between avenue Winston Churchill and place de la Concorde is closed.
  • The Concorde Bridge is accessible from the Cour la Reine in a north-south direction and remains accessible for local services in a south-north direction.
  • The La Concorde underground public car park is closed from June 1 to September 25.
  • Diversions for bicycle traffic will be put in place.

Low platforms

From this Monday, this sector will be modified to welcome the start of the triathlon, para triathlon, marathon swimming races and the finish of the time trial cycling race.

  • The ports of Champs-Elysées and Invalides will be closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the right bank and from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the left bank.

To support these installation operations, a traffic system will be put in place by the police headquarters and the City of Paris, around the Invalides, Trocadéro and Concorde sectors, as well as on the main roads.
