Erik ten Hag’s scathing message to the management of Manchester United and its detractors!

Clearly, Erik ten Hag continues to settle his scores. Returning to the sidelines of the FA Cup final against Manchester City, the Dutch coach of Manchester United had strong words before the match. It finally worked out for him since his team pulled off a nice coup by winning in style with a score of 2-1. A great performance which therefore allows the Red Devils to obtain a title and European qualification in the Europa League in a season which will have been trying from start to finish.

And this had its small effect on Erik ten Hag’s side. Relieved to end the year on a good note, the former Ajax Amsterdam coach wanted to highlight his results. Asked about his future, the coach who knows he is threatened was evasive at the microphone of the BBC : “I don’t know (if I’m going to stay, editor’s note). The only thing I do is prepare my team, develop my team, improve my team and my individual players. This is a project for me. When I arrived, things were a mess. We are better now, but not where we want to be by far.”

Erik ten Hag warns his management

Aware of the difficult season he experienced with his team, he wanted to underline the finality with a trophy and qualification for the Europa League while highlighting the problems he faced: “Football is about winning trophies. I want to play the best football, I want to play dynamic football, but at the end of the day you have to win trophies. I am very proud of the players and the staff because they did an incredible job. I tell you all year: when the players are in good shape, we can play good football. It’s a very good performance against the best team in the world.”

“We didn’t have the players. We saw the same things, not always good football, certainly not, but we had to compromise all the time and you can’t play the football you want to play. I’ve had maybe three or four times in two years the entire team available. Even today we were missing massive players like Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Casemiro. Two trophies in two seasons and three finals… not bad. If they don’t want me anymore, I’ll go somewhere else and win trophies. That’s what I do”, he continued. A message which will not fail to provoke reaction and reflection from the management of Manchester United where the name of Thomas Tuchel comes up more and more…
