AC Milan supporters on strike against the possible arrival of Paulo Fonseca?

This Saturday, AC Milan hosts Salernitana in Serie A for its last official match of the season. During the first period, the Ultras de la Curva Sud will not encourage their team to protest against the possible arrival of Paulo Fonseca.

At the end of his contract at LOSC, Paulo Fonseca could bounce back at AC Milan. This prospect does not please the supporters of the Lombard club and they will make it known on Saturday evening (8:45 p.m.), on the sidelines of the reception of Salernitana in Serie A, for the last match of the season.

According to several Italian media including Sport Mediaset, the Ultras de la Curva Sud will remain silent during the first period of this meeting. The reason for the anger? Paulo Fonseca managed AS Roma between 2019 and 2021 and he did not leave a lasting memory in Italy. Also courted by OM, the Portuguese coach is cited as the favorite to take over AC Milan. The Curva Sud would rather like Antonio Conte, he who led Juventus and Inter Milan to the Serie A title.

“The Rossonero people are no longer willing to accept projects that do not aim at the highest level”

The Ultras, who have already campaigned to avoid the appointment of Julen Lopetegui who has since found himself at West Ham, published a press release to justify themselves: “The message addressed to the entire Milanese environment must be clear: the Rossonero people n ‘is more willing to accept projects that are not aimed at the highest level both in Italy and in Europe, a people who have won like no other in Italy and who have always stood out for their closeness to their team even in the most difficult moments in its long history.” La Curva Sud demands a “winning project”, which “starts from the bench through the field to the management.”

In the second half, the supporters will set the mood to celebrate the passage to the club of Simon Kjær and Olivier Giroud, who will no longer be present next season. Arriving in 2019, Stefano Pioli will leave his post as coach of AC Milan, two years after winning the Serie A title. “We went through shitty years, we’re back at the top and now no one wants to move out of there,” supporters wrote.

Second in Serie A this season, AC Milan will therefore play in the Champions League next season. Supporters therefore want an ambitious long-term project. “The Rossoneri want the team to regain the role of undisputed protagonist, a role that the Rossoneri have always maintained firmly in the stands of each stadium,” concluded the Ultras.
