It’s a dream final. Stade Toulousain and Leinster, who face each other this Saturday in the final of the Champions Cup, are simply the two most successful clubs in the most prestigious European competition. Toulouse has won it five times while the Irish club sports four stars on its jersey. Leinster therefore has the opportunity on the pitch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, north of London, to come back to the level of the Rouge et Noir in terms of European titles while the latter are aiming for a sixth coronation to take the lead.

Toulouse returns to London three years later

This final also pits the two best teams from the group stage of this edition of the Champions Cup against each other.. Toulouse and Leinster therefore had home advantage in the final stages and managed to do the job to reach the final. A final step which has not been successful in recent seasons at the Irish club. Indeed, the Dublin team is a finalist in the last two editions of the Champions Cup, but fell twice against Stade Rochelais. Before that, Leinster also lost the final of the 2019 edition against Saracens. His last title dates back to 2018 against Racing 92.

For his part, Stade Toulousain won its last final, in 2021, against Stade Rochelais. If this meeting took place in London, “only” 10,000 spectators were present in the stands at Twickenham, because of the health crisis. The Rouge et Noir will therefore return to London this Saturday, but this time the match will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and in front of 62,000 people.

The starting XVs of the two teams

For this long-awaited final, both teams present themselves, of course, with their best possible teams. Ugo Mola decided to renew the victorious starting XV against Harlequins in the semi-final. Thus, the hinge is composed by Antoine Dupont and of Romain Ntamack, For example. We will also note the presence on the bench of Tom Ramos and the one at Julien Marchand among others.

On the Leinster side, the stars of the Irish club and the Irish XV are present. We can notably cite the winger James Lowethe scrum half Jamison Gibson Park or the third line center and captain Caelan Doris.
