According to the Swedish press, searches took place at the hotel where the alleged rape incidents targeting Kylian Mbappé took place. Staff at the establishment were questioned.
If justice remains discreet, the Swedish police are continuing investigations a week after the complaint of rape and sexual assault filed by a woman in a Stockholm hotel. According to several Swedish media, this targets Kylian Mbappé who was residing in the establishment at the time of the alleged events. The courts did not give any name even if the player’s entourage is convinced that the latter is indeed the target of this complaint.
Police officers and technicians at the hotel on Saturday
According to Aftonbladet, one of the first two newspapers to report the affair, plainclothes police officers went to the hotel on Saturday, accompanied by technicians to collect evidence. They visited the suite reserved by the player before following a sort of guided tour to precisely retrace the places frequented in the establishment.
Police also questioned several, but not all, staff members. The media also mentions the numerous video surveillance cameras outside and inside, without specifying whether the images had already been seized. The police were seen a week ago leaving the scene with several bags of craft paper. According to Expressen, they left the hotel with panties, black pants and a black top.
Kylian Mbappé was seen in the streets of Stockholm on Thursday October 10 during a match for the France team against Israel. Forfeit, he benefited from days off from his club and therefore went to the Swedish capital where he dined in a French cuisine restaurant before heading to the V nightclub. The following Monday, two newspapers Swedish claimed that the player was the target of a complaint filed on Saturday for alleged acts of rape dating back to Thursday in the Bank hotel. The player had described an article revealing the opening of a rape investigation as “fake news” without mentioning his name.
According to information from Le Parisien, confirmed by RMC Sport, the player had a sexual relationship which he considers consensual during his trip to Sweden. He also has text messages written by this young woman after her departure from the hotel and therefore after their intimate relationship. The exchanges by messages would have been positive between the two parties. There is nothing to confirm at this stage that the complainant is the author of the messages sent to Kylian Mbappé. The latter played again and scored with Real Madrid on Saturday.
