Mercato: Mbappé is leaving, big news for PSG?

Published on May 22, 2024 at 11:30 a.m.

PSG will lose Kylian Mbappé, but obviously not his great friend Achraf Hakimi. Indeed, while the captain of the French team will be packing up this summer, the Moroccan defender has publicly linked his future to Paris Saint-Germain and would absolutely not hide his attachment to the capital club behind the scenes. An extension of his contract would not be ruled out.

Kylian Mbappé ended its seven-year adventure with the PSG on May 10 through a four-minute video published on his social networks. This announcement took place 48 hours before his last at the Parc des Princes as a player of the Paris SaintGermain against the Toulouse FC (1-3). On Monday, May 13, the traditional UNFP Trophies ceremony took place at the Armenonville pavilion during which Mbappé was voted best player of the Ligue 1 season for the fifth consecutive time.

“Mbappé? We are still in Paris and we must think of the best for Paris.”

As part of this UNFP Trophies evening, Ashraf Hakimi spoke at the microphone of Prime Video on the departure of PSG of his great friend and soon to be ex-teammate Kylian Mbappé. “Everyone knew that Kylian (editor’s note Mbappé) was going to leave. I wish him the best for the future. We are still in Paris and we must think of the best for Paris.”

Hakimi is attached to the club, PSG is preparing a contract extension?

“Think of the best for Paris”. It seems that these are not empty words spoken by Ashraf Hakimi. If we are to believe the information from The Team, Hakimi would not hide his attachment to Paris Saint-Germain internally even if his friend Kylian Mbappé will be absent next season. Having great freedom on and off the field with Luis Enrique according to The Teamthe Moroccan full-back would feel good PSG where he is currently contractually bound until June 2026. The Parisian club would like to take advantage of its green light for Games Olympics with the Morocco in order to negotiate a contract extension with the clan in the future Hakimi.
