1000 days after his last MMA fight, Francis Ngannou returns to the arena. The Cameroonian challenges the Brazilian Renan Ferreira on Saturday evening in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), with the PFL heavyweight belt at stake. After his last outing against Ciryl Gane, the 38-year-old fighter turned to English boxing, where he lost two fights against Tyson Fury on October 28, 2023 (beaten by split decision), then Anthony Joshua on March 8, 2024 ( KO in the 2nd round).
Facing Ngannou stands Ferreira (2.03 m), nicknamed “Problema” and winner by knockout after 25 seconds of the same PFL heavyweight belt last year. At 34 years old, the Brazilian has won four fights in a row. On this occasion, the Cameroonian will compete in his very first fight in PFL, after having slammed the door of the UFC for lack of agreement on the treatment of fighters.
The fight between Francis Ngannou and Renan Ferreira is scheduled for the night of Saturday October 19 to Sunday October 20. It will be broadcast on DAZN via a pay-per-view system for €19.99.
