The coach of the Senegal Women’s National Team, Mame Moussa Cissé, announced the group selected for the Lionesses’ next two friendly matches, against Tanzania and Morocco, at the end of October in preparation for CAN 2025. Mbayang Sow and Ndeye Awa Diakhate does not appear there.

Via the networks of the Senegalese Federation (FSF), Mame Moussa Cissé communicated Friday evening the group selected for the next two friendly meetings against Tanzania (October 27) and Morocco (October 29) in Casablanca, in the framework of preparation for the CAN Feminine 2025 (July 5 to 26). A list which includes 23 players and which does not see many changes compared to the last list published last July.

No Mbayang Sow

Already absent during the last break, which saw the Lionesses win twice against DR Congo, Ndeye Awa Diakhate was once again left out. Not completely in optimal physical shape, the Olympique de midfielder hardly plays beforeec his club at the start of the season. Another notable absence, Coumba Sylla Mbodji recently underwent an operation which will sideline him for a long time.

But the most notable absence in this group concocted by Mame Moussa Cissé obviously remains that of Mbayang Sow. The central defender from Chassieu-Décines is faced with a lack of playing time with her new team playing in women’s D3 (). To compensate for this absence, the coach chose young players like Adama Sané (Aigles de la Médina) but especially Aïcha Kales (Dakar Sacré-Cœur), great hope in the position.
