Even before the end of the 2024 editions of African Interclub Cupsthere Confederation of African Football is already working to sort out the final details for the next release. Indeed, the competitions commission under the CAF set the date of June 15 as the deadline for submitting the lists of clubs participating in the continental inter-club tournaments, which are the Champions League and the CAF Cup. The Federations affiliated to the Confederation must therefore send the list of qualified teams to compete in these two competitions, before June 15.r>r>

In Morocco, this announcement exerts additional pressure on the National Professional Football League, which will have to complete the two major football competitions in less than a month. The first challenge will therefore be to schedule the last day of the Botola Pro Inwi D1, knowing that the 28th and 29th days have already been scheduled for May 27-28 and June 1-2 respectively. There LNFP will therefore have to schedule the 30th day within 12 days (before June 15), but not only that! The League will also have to decline the program for the semi-finals and the final of the 2023 Throne Cup, a qualifying competition for the CAF Cup. The four clubs having entered the last four areAS FARTHE Maghreb of FezTHE Mouloudia d’Oujda and the Raja of Casablanca.

The first qualifying ticket in the CAF Cup is usually reserved for the winner of the Throne Cup, while the second goes to the third in the Botola D1 ranking. However this year, the Throne Cup ticket could be canceled if Raja and AS FAR qualify for the final. The two big names have already won their ticket to the CAF Champions League and cannot combine two participations. The two CAF Cup tickets could therefore go to the third and fourth in the Botola Pro Inwi D1 this season.

In any case, the LNFP must at least schedule the last day of the championship and the semi-finals of the Coupe du Trône before June 15. If the logic were to be respected and AS FAR and Raja qualified, the final could be scheduled beyond this date, because it will have no influence on the list of participating clubs in the African Interclub Cups. As a reminder, Moroccan participation in interclub tournaments has been chaotic this season, especially in the Champions League, where AS FAR was eliminated at the preliminary round stage, while Wydad left the competition in the group stages. In the CAF Cup, Berkane Renaissance reached the final stage before losing to Zamalek in Cairo.
