Chelsea confirms the departure of Mauricio Pochettino!

Unsurprisingly and as announced by the English press earlier this Tuesday, the Argentine coach, Mauricio Pochettino, was dismissed by mutual agreement with the management of Chelsea. The London club, dissatisfied with the team’s lack of progress over the last 12 months, decided to bang their fist on the table. A new coach will therefore take the reins of the Blues in the coming weeks. The 52-year-old Argentinian leaves Stamford Bridge with a record of 26 wins, 11 draws and 14 defeats in 51 games managed: “Chelsea FC can confirm that the Club and Mauricio Pochettino have mutually agreed to part ways”. Chelsea concluded their championship season in 6th position, nevertheless having great epics in national cups with a semi-final in the FA Cup and a final in the League Cup. The time has therefore come for change for the third version of Chelsea under BlueCo.

Sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley said: “On behalf of everyone at Chelsea, we would like to express our gratitude to Mauricio for his service this season. He will be welcome at Stamford Bridge at any time and we wish him the best in his future coaching career., it is written in the rest of the official press release published on the club website. The Argentine coach will therefore have to look for a new club, while Chelsea have already set out to conquer their future tactician. The marriage never worked out perfectly between the club and the former PSG and Tottenham coach. However, the new ownership has put in place the means to offer the Argentinian and his staff the most competitive squad possible. Indeed, having arrived at the head of the club in June 2022, the American billionaire, Todd Boehly, broke the bank to attract the biggest nuggets of European football and chose a few months later, Mauricio Pochettino, to take over from Graham Potter after the interim of Frank Lampard on the Blues bench. But despite these millions spent on the various transfer windows, the Argentine coach has never been able to guide the London club to the summits of the Premier League.
