The art of the opposite! In the midst of a storm after the rape accusations mentioned by the Swedish press, Kylian Mbappé said he was “very happy” to have been crowned player of the month for September by Real Madrid fans, in a video released Thursday by his club.
“I am very happy, I want to thank all the Real Madrid supporters, it is a pleasure to be elected player of the month,” the French striker declares in Spanish in this short video broadcast on the Real website.
“The most important thing is that we won a lot of matches during this month (of September), and I hope that we will continue like that,” continues the man who scored six goals in five matches in September for his club .
“We have three very important games next week and we want to win all three of them. The team and I are ready and I hope we do the best for all of Madrid,” he concludes.
Real Madrid will face Celta Vigo away on Saturday in the league, before welcoming Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday in the Champions League, then facing Barça at the Bernabéu for the “clasico” on Sunday October 27.
This reward for Kylian Mbappé comes at a time of media turmoil for the player, whose name was cited Monday by Swedish media in connection with a rape case in Stockholm.
The Swedish prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday that it was conducting an investigation into rape after the visit of Kylian Mbappé and his entourage last week to Stockholm, without however naming any names. Local media assure that the star is at the heart of the investigations.
