When the Vegas Golden Knights acquired Anthony Mantha at the trade deadline, they wanted to see good offensive production from him in the playoffs.

Not only did he play in only three of the Knights’ seven playoff games, but he was held off the scoresheet in each game.

Here he is free as air and with the acquisition of Tomas Hertl in particular, it is hard to imagine that he will return to the city of vice.

Could he be a good option for the CH?

This isn’t the first time Mantha’s name has been linked to CH, but this time it wouldn’t be far-fetched.

Bob Trask, a columnist for Recrutes.ca, looked into the issue and his points are quite interesting.

The 6-foot-5 forward ranks very well in terms of distance covered in a game and his top speed (67th and 74th percentile). He also has an excellent shot, which is not insignificant.

Trask didn’t touch the defensive elements, because he believes his possible teammates in Montreal could compensate.

He mentions that the elements in which he stands out are missing at CH and he is not wrong. A new phase of the rebuild begins and the team will look to add players with some NHL experience who can score.

The name Martin Necas has been mentioned a few times, but Mantha could be another interesting name.

The only problem is his age which does not fit with the average player, but with an acceptable salary and above all a reasonable number of years, it is a good “fit”.

It has what CH does not currently have to be a more balanced club.
