Reims – Stade Rennes: SRFC notes

For the last match of the season, Rennes played Reims. Here are the Rennes scores, out of 10.

Mandanda: 4

Reims didn’t come close to the goal that many times but managed to score twice. He made a good save against Munetsi (44th) before the break but was beaten from the penalty spot after returning from the locker room. At the end of the match, he remained on his heels on Akieme’s recovery.

Seidu: 4

Lined up once again, he was correct defensively but not very useful offensively. A lot of difficulty moving forward for the right side who is still questioning his positioning.

Omari: 4

Aligned with the left axis of the hinge, he alternated the good and the less good against a Stade de Reims which had very few chances but each time proved dangerous.

Wooh: 3

Holder right axis of the hinge, he had difficulty in the duel and experienced some errors, like the ball which he inexplicably lets pass just before the break on Munetsi’s opportunity.

Truffert: 4

Useful offensively, he planned to put pressure on the Reims camp, without managing to find the fault. A shot on target too soft (19th), defensively correct.

Matusiwa: 4

Alone on sentry today, he faced his former club and was not transcendent. Useful in the duel, it did not help in the construction of the game.

The Fairy: 4

A passable match in the construction for the one who will be expected next season as well. An off-target shot (8th) to open the ball, then a leading role in the SRFC game which came up against a good Reims block.

Replaced by Salah, little in sight.

D.Gifted: 3

It was perhaps his last match with Rennes and the young talent may have wanted to do too much. Always impactful, he rarely made the right choices and often opted for dribbling. Upon returning from the locker room, he caused the Reims penalty which embarrassed Rennes.

Replaced by Blas at the hour mark, without much influence.

Bourigeaud: 3

Placed back in the midfield for this last match, he, as always, had less impact than on one side. A blocked strike (37th) too, before a blocked free kick (39th), for the rare occasions when Rennes was on target. A last mixed match to end the season.

Replaced by Rieder for the last quarter of an hour, and a sumptuous free kick.

Terrier: 3

A match without, once again for the attacker this time placed alone in point. A shot on target repelled by Diouf (40th), another counter (57th), and few movements with his teammates in the attack, without inspiration.

Gouiri: 3

Like all Rennais in the first period, he camped the Reims surface without finding the opening. A point blank shot saved, another release by the goalkeeper, and no goal to end the season for the striker.

Replaced by Yildirim at the hour mark, who missed his face-to-face at the end of the match.
