Annik Kälin finished 2nd in the Götzis heptatlon with 6506 points. This result allows Grisonne to validate its ticket to Paris.

With her 6506 points, Annik Kälin finished very close to her Swiss record (6515) established in 2022 in Munich. This result is all the more satisfactory as the Swiss was not able to give everything in height, to spare herself. This 2nd place allows him to reach the Olympic limit for Paris.

The Grisonne began her Sunday retreat with 6m70 at length, 6cm from her national indoor record. She then threw the javelin at 45m93 then ran the 800m in 2’16”63. The victory went to the Dutch Anouck Vetter with 6642 points.

Ehammer gives up in tears

Simon Ehammer failed to win in the Götzis decathlon. The 24-year-old athlete had started the 2nd day well and had fueled hopes of seeing his own Swiss record, dating from 2022 (8468), fall.

This was not the case, his scores did not reflect the potential of the world indoor heptathlon champion. The tank emptied as frustration grew. The Appenzeller finally pulled the plug, in tears. The last race over 1500m would not have allowed him to claim a happy ending anyway.
