Servette Chênois will play the play-off final!

Published today at 6:00 p.m.

Third edition of the play-offs in the Women’s Super League and third final between Servette Chênois and Zurich. Unsurprisingly, the Geneva team validated their ticket for the title match, Sunday afternoon at Fontenette, by securing the draw (0-0) against Young Boys. The girls coached by Jose Barcala did most of the work a week ago in Bern, winning largely (0-4).

First in the regular championship with 41 points in 18 outings, the Garnet will therefore meet their runners-up from Zurich next Sunday – May 26 – at the Stockhorn Arena in Thun (kick-off at 3:15 p.m.). FCZ had already validated its ticket for the play-off final on Saturday evening, obtaining a draw at home against Basel (2-2), after winning the first leg on the banks of the Rhine (1-2).

This third poster between Servetti and Zurich promises a lot, with garnet players eager to finally take their revenge against their German-speaking rivals. Because both in 2021-2022 (0-3 defeat) and last season (2-2, 4-5 setback), the Garnet had stumbled on the last step after having finished at the top of the ranking at the end of the first phase of the exercise.

Whatever happens next Sunday in the Oberland, the team led by Jose Barcala will not have a white season since it has already won the Swiss Cup on April 20 against Young Boys. The SFCCF has won the national title only once in its history, in 2021.
