(Keystone-ATS) The Lausanne Olympic Museum is gearing up for the Paris Olympics, which will take place from July 26 to August 11. From May 25, it is offering a new temporary exhibition dedicated to the three Parisian editions, those of 1900, 1924 and 2024.

On view until January 19, this immersive exhibition aims to transport visitors to the City of Lights thanks to large-scale projections retracing the present and past of the French capital, in connection with the history of the Olympic Games.

“Paris Olympique is not a traditional museum exhibition, it is an audiovisual show with a minimum of text for maximum immersion, accessible for all ages, regardless of language,” writes the Lausanne museum in its application file. press.

Four themes

Located on the first floor of the museum, this “immersive journey” is structured around four themes: the Olympic sites, sports and champions, the identity of the Olympic Games as well as the cultural aspects of the Olympic Games. Visit time is estimated at 19 minutes and entry is free.

Two interactive areas complete the exhibition on old competitions: the “200 m with obstacles” swimming event from Paris 1900 and the rope climb from Paris 1924. Also note that the exhibition will be evolving during the Games , with the addition of photos and videos of current competitions.

Outside the museum, the Olympic park has also been adorned with the colors of Paris 2024. It invites you to take a walk to discover anecdotes about the three editions of the Paris Games.

The exhibition will be accompanied by several cultural events. This program will start on May 25 with a day combining art, culture and sport. The public will be able to witness the live creation by seven comic book authors of original works inspired by sports at the Olympic Games. A screening of an RTS episode of “Our dream, the Games – Paris, let’s go!” is also planned, in the presence of Swiss athletes.
