Should we still wait for the returns of Lukaku and De Bruyne? Tedesco responds clearly – All football

Belgium experienced this international break without three executives: Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Amadou Onana. Unfortunately, the hopes of finishing in the top 2 of the group are almost non-existent: should we therefore call the best possible team?

To this question, Domenico Tedesco’s answer was clear: “Yes, I will call the best players. The objective now is of course to stay in Group A of the Nations League, but who knows? Everything will also depend a lot of Italy- If we make 6/6, there is still a chance”, estimates the coach of the Devils.

Some returns are to be expected… even if there are a lot of questions around the cases of De Bruyne and Lukaku. “We were all afraid that Kevin De Bruyne would stop after the disappointment of the match in France,” confesses Tedesco.

“But not at all. He is very important for us. Kevin will not be here in November, it was agreed that he would concentrate on qualifying for the 2026 World Cup.” No KDB, therefore, during the last two Nations League matches, but in March.

But what about Romelu Lukaku? Some are starting to think that the Napoli striker will not return. He actually declined two selections in a row to “work on his form”, which is unlike him. “I believe that in November, after several weeks, he will be available. Big Rom is back, I hope,” smiled Domenico Tedesco.

“There is also the return of Amadou Onana which will be very important,” he also recalls. Unfortunately a little late, because now it would take a miracle to get one of the first two places in the Nations League.
