In the midst of turmoil linked to the accusation of rape to which he is the subject according to the Swedish media, Kylian Mbappé was deleted from a photo published by Real Madrid.

Why this retouch? To promote an event with the Real Madrid foundation and Adidas, Tuesday October 15, English footballer Jude Bellingham published a photograph in which he appears with Kylian Mbappé and former world champion Roberto Carlos among others. At the same time, the Spanish club published the same photo on its social networks. Except that on this one, Kylian Mbappé does not appear. The rest of the photo is absolutely identical in every way. Which raises questions, given the accusation of rape against Kylian Mbappé in Sweden.

A little over an hour after it went live, Jude Bellingham quietly removed the photo from his Instagram account (although the entire post is still available). But many Internet users had already noticed the curiosity.

A story of equipment manufacturers, according to Real Madrid

According to Real Madrid, contacted by RMC Sport, this alteration has a simple explanation and unrelated to the accusation of rape which would target Kylian Mbappé in Sweden. The club claims the photo had to be altered for sponsorship reasons, with the player being associated with Nike while the event is linked to Adidas.

The fact remains that the other photos do not only highlight Adidas athletes. But unlike Kylian Mbappé, they did not wear a jacket bearing the three stripes specific to the German brand.

This alteration comes at a time of turmoil for Kylian Mbappé, who, according to Swedish media, is the target of a rape complaint in Stockholm. If the link between the alleged facts and the captain of the French team has not been formally established at the time these lines are written, the courts have, however, confirmed the existence of an investigation (but without citing the player name).
