Anderlecht’s U23s, the RSCA Futures, had a fairly disappointing season, far from the ambitions normally displayed.

The 2023-2024 RSCA Futures season in Challenger Pro League (D1B) has not exactly been easy. Following several poor results, the young Mauves et Blancs only finished in 12th place in the rankings.

Arrived last summer to replace Guillaume Gillet – who succeeded Robin Veldman -, the coach Marink Reedijk failed to achieve its ambitions of top 6 at the head of the RSCA Futures.

This Thursday, RSC Anderlecht announced that Reedijk will no longer be the coach of its U23s. “After the end of the current season, the management met with Marink to evaluate this season and discuss the future. After constructive discussions, it was mutually decided to part ways end of this season,” the club communicated.

The main interested party also reacted: “I collaborated on good terms with the management of the club and I had the privilege of working with fantastic talents (…)”

“The main objectives of developing the players and securing the club another season in the Challenger Pro League have also been achieved. I will now look for a new challenge where I will aim to leverage my experiences as a coach of a first team.”
