Tenth in Pro D2, Aurillac is making progress on building its squad for next season: according to our information, the Cantal club has obtained the commitment of Pau hopeful hooker Arnaud Puyo (21 years old) and should also enlist the Georgian international fly-half from Montauban Tedo Abzhandadze (24 years old, 51 caps).

The recruitment of a number 10 was one of the priority files for Aurillac recruitment after the confirmation of the departures of Antoine Aucagne and Marc Palmier this summer. According to our information, the current tenth of the Pro D2 bet on Tedo Abzhandadze (24 years old) to lead his game next season.

The Georgian opener, under contract with Montauban until 2025, is about to be released by his current club to allow him to take on this new challenge. An agreement would have been reached between all stakeholders. Arriving at Sapiac in 2022 after having studied in Brive for three years, the number 10 of Lelos has only worn the green and black jersey twenty times, due to his international status – he participated in the 2023 World Cup and the last Rugby Europe Championship – and competition for the position of Jérôme Bosviel. Scorer and Jiff, Tedo Abzhandadze is preparing to experience a third French club.

Half a dozen known recruits

In terms of the forward pack, Stade Aurillacois recently recorded the commitment of Arnaud Puyo (21 years old). The hopeful hooker from Pau, who freelanced in Tarbes, in the National, at the start of the season, was coming to the end of his contract with the Section. Never appearing with the flagship team of the Béarnais club, he will make his debut in the professional fold under the Cantal colors.

As a reminder, the second line of Vannes Koen Bloemen, the opener of Blagnac Ugo Seunes and the center of Montpellier Karl Martin will also take the direction of Jean-Alric this summer.
