OGC Nice coach Francesco Farioli could join Ajax Amsterdam this summer. An agreement in principle has been reached between the Dutch club and the Italian technician, according to the Telegraaf . An agreement must now be reached with the Gym, where Farioli is under contract until June 2025.

Ten Hag and Potter surveyed

The Nice coach was not the first choice for Amsterdam, who had coveted Erik ten Hag and Graham Potter since John van’t Schip announced his departure at the end of the season. But the club welcomes his open-mindedness, which will be welcome to get back on its feet a club in great difficulty this season, and which has had five coaches over the last two years.

According to the Dutch daily, the Italian technician would sign up for three seasons in Amsterdam. His mission will be to turn around the club, which came close to disaster by finding itself penultimate in the Eredivisie this fall. A victory in the last day, next weekend against Vitesse, red lantern, would ensure Ajax a place in the second qualifying round of the Europa League next season.

With Nice, Francesco Farioli had a dream debut, occupying second place in Ligue 1 for a long time. But the second part of the season was more delicate, seeing the Aiglons slip to 5th place.
