Difficult end of the season for the women of Rassemblement Rugby Nord Quercy, who after losing in the final of the Occitanie championship, were eliminated in the round of 16 of the French Federal 2 championship, by the Stade Rochelais team this Sunday in Bergerac.
Beyond the disappointment, we will remember a first XV season of great quality where all the players and the staff are to be congratulated for their commitment.
For this round of 16, Stade Rochelais did not steal its victory. However the score seems too heavy or more precisely the RRNQ would have deserved to go into the goal at least on one of the two most dangerous actions they had. Not finishing at 0 would have at least paid off the investment put into this match.
The difference was not made so much on individual qualities as on the strength of the collective. During this match we clearly felt the gap that exists between a gathering of local clubs and the organization of a professional club even at the level of its amateur structure. The Rochelais players train 2 to 3 times a week.
So no regrets to have, this experience will have shown the path that we must try to approach and now it’s time for the holidays and then the preparation for next season.
Still in the RRNQ chapter, the juniors lost 29 – 12 at Isle Jourdain, for the round of 16 of the Occitanie R2 championship.
Finally, the cadets won the field at Seilh Aussonne Fenouillet, ranked No. 1 in Occitanie after the qualifying groups, with a score of 39 to 22. They will therefore play the semi-finals on Saturday, May 25.
