Once again, the best player for the Nuggets in the victory last night was perhaps Aaron Gordon. Right in his choices, annoying in defense, perfect in his role as a handyman, Aaron Gordon has become this perfect versatile player who keeps the Nuggets collective together. He’s come a long way since Orlando.

I can’t believe that 4 years ago, Aaron Gordon was a messy, structureless winger in Orlando, who was stoned in the middle of an interview with Shaq on national television and served as the punchline for a Dunk Contest loss.

The most impactful player in the Nuggets’ victory last night was undoubtedly Air Gordon. With the biggest +/- of the game, he also had the second most points (27), most rebounds (7), and most blocks (2) on his team, while finishing with 6 assists, one less than Nikola Jokic. Sending more good efforts in defense, it is of course him, the player to whom Mike Malone entrusted the most playing time, exceeding 41 minutes. Aaron’s game pissed off everyone in Minnesota, starting with Wolves leader Anthony Edwards.

“I’m sick of Aaron Gordon” – Anthony Edwards, reading the scoresheet

In Ant’s defense, Air Gordon still finished the evening with 11/12 shooting and 3/3 shooting. Aaron Gordon is first in the entire Western Conference in shooting percentage in these Playoffs. Could you have said this sentence three years ago? The answer is no. Firstly because Gordon was playing in the Eastern Conference at the time, then because he was shooting around 44% when he played for Florida. Far from the 61% he posted this year in these Playoffs. Alongside Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon was able to reveal his full potential in the Playoffs, namely an excellent 3 and D, setting the tone in terms of efforts and being able to transform into a real savant of the game at times.

You haven’t finished hearing about the work that Aaron Gordon is doing in these Playoffs, that’s something we can assure you. Far behind the bad memories of Orlando, Aaron Gordon is now a respected champion in Denver. The Nuggets’ fourth option, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more impactful player than him on his team who wasn’t born in Serbia. This is also Aaron Gordon from now on.
