Mirande will host the passing of the Olympic torch relay on May 18. Some developments are to be planned in the city center. Overview.

Saturday May 18, Mirande will host the passing of the Olympic torch relay. To ensure the smooth running of the event, some arrangements are to be made in the city center. The bastide is in fact organized to ensure the safety of the torchbearers and spectators with a security system implemented in collaboration with the police and emergency services.

The Saturday morning market, which takes place at the André Daguin hall, will exceptionally be canceled on the day of the visit.

Parking measures are planned. From 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., it will be prohibited in several streets of Mirande. On the route: boulevard Georges Clemenceau (between rue Marrens and rue Gambetta), boulevard Louis Laguens (between rue Gambetta and rue Pierre Delisle), rue Pierre Delisle and place d’Astarac.

But also on certain adjacent streets: avenue St-Roch, rue Elie Duffort, avenue d’Antras (between rue Elie Duffort and boulevard Clemenceau) and finally rue Sérignac (between rue des Clarisses and rue des Écoles).
Traffic will be prohibited on several axes from 9:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Here they are: rue Elie Duffort, avenue St-Roch (between the Route de Monclar roundabout and rue Elie Duffort) and Avenue d’Antras (between rue Elie Duffort and boulevard Clemenceau).

Around thirty streets blocked

One hour before the relay and a little after its closing, from 10:10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the municipality will block traffic on several streets to avoid any vehicles on the route. The bastide being a checkerboard, this represents around thirty streets.
