Steven Smet is leaving his position as training manager at Antwerp after seven years of service. The announcement was made by Antwerp on Friday via

“Under Steven’s leadership, and thanks to the necessary investment and efforts of the club management, our youth program has progressed from Elite 2 to Elite 1, the highest level in Belgium. This has also been translated by an increase in the number of young internationals, the promotion of the Young Reds to Nationale 1 and the emergence of young talents trained by our club integrated into the first team. For the past three months, Smet has worked as an assistant to 59-year-old CEO Youth Jean Kindermans, who left RSC Anderlecht at the beginning of February and signed a contract until mid-2029.
