The revolt in the stands is about to bear fruit. Since the start of the season, many supporters have been protesting against the scheduling of Ligue 2 matches, particularly on Friday evenings, when beIN Sports offers a multiplex. Some matches were interrupted this summer due to tennis balls or smoke bombs being thrown onto the pitch. At the end of August, beIN Sports control room trucks were also vandalized.

Faced with this very tense situation, the broadcaster, the League and the National Supporters Association have met in recent hours to study certain solutions. The possibility that a match at the Friday multiplex could be postponed to Saturday evening is being discussed in the press.

“We must respect the choices of beIN Sports”

Asked about possible changes in the coming weeks, Pierre-Olivier Murat, the boss of Rodez, was optimistic this Thursday at a press conference. “We are working on it, there will be some adjustments,” he said.

When asked about the subject again, the president of the Aveyron club firmly recalled the importance of beIN Sports’ investment in the antechamber of the elite: “Today, there are people who pay. In this case, in Ligue 2, it’s beIN Sports. We have to respect their choices. Because you can act like a clown on a TV set every evening, insult people, if beIN Sports decides to play on Friday or Saturday, we have to respect them. Because without beIN Sports, Ligue 2 is no longer there, you (the journalists) are no longer there and there are no more matches.”
